NNDSB Summer Learning Camps, Instructor Pool

Summer Literacy and Numeracy Programs

(All programs are based on required enrolment numbers to qualify for funding) The Near North District School Board is looking for instructors to be part of an exciting summer learning program for children who would benefit from additional assistance in developing and refining literacy and/or numeracy skills. This half-day program will be offered in all regions of the Board through an in-person delivery model.

Please indicate in your cover letter: Your preference to region (West, East or North)Hours of Work: Approximately 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM (specific program start and end times to be determined)

Required Qualifications: Two-Year post-secondary certificate or diploma in the social services field

Primary or Junior classroom experience

Valid Ontario College of Teachers Certificate, enrolment in a B.Ed. program will be considered an asset

Primary/Junior or Junior/Intermediate Qualifications will be considered an asset

Additional Qualifications in Reading or Mathematics will be considered an assetRequired Skills: Early Literacy/Mathematics experience and/or experience with the Summer Learning Camps programs will be considered an asset

In depth knowledge of literacy (reading and writing) or mathematics processes, assessment and instruction will be considered an asset

Demonstrated ability to provide high quality and engaging literacy, mathematics and/or summer camp programming will be considered an asset

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with other adults

Ability to provide culturally responsive programming
