NNDSB Summer Learning Camps, Lead Instructor Pool

Summer Literacy and Numeracy Programs

(All programs are based on required enrolment numbers to qualify for funding) The Near North District School Board is looking for lead instructors to be part of an exciting summer learning program for children who would benefit from additional assistance in developing and refining literacy and/or numeracy skills. This half-day program will be offered in all regions of the Board through an in-person delivery model.

If you are assigned to a Lead Instructor role, if you wish to be considered for the Summer Learning Camps Instructor Pool. [If this is the case, you will not need to apply for that position in addition to this application.]Hours of Work: Approximately 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM (specific program start and end times to be determined)

Required Qualifications: Valid Ontario College of Teachers Certificate

Primary/Junior or Junior/Intermediate Qualifications

Additional Qualifications in Reading or Mathematics will be considered an assetRequired Skills: Early Literacy/Mathematics experience and/or experience with the Summer Learning Camps programs will be considered an asset

In depth knowledge of literacy (reading and writing) or mathematics processes, assessment and instruction

Demonstrated ability to provide high quality and engaging literacy, mathematics and/or summer camp programming

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, communicate and effectively lead educator teams

Ability to provide culturally responsive programming

Ability to collect, monitor and report on data

Ability to implement and analyze assessment date to inform instruction

Ability to plan instructional programming based on individual student readiness

Ability to create effective communication with families and respond to requests and concerns
