Job Description:

CFIS is seeking a full-time English Language Arts Teacher (Grades 8 to 12) beginning in the 2024-2025 school year. The successful candidate will be teaching English Language Arts in our secondary division with specific grade level assignments still to be determined.Responsibilities of this role will include: Short-term and long-term curriculum planning.

Lesson delivery and differentiation.

Evaluation, assessment, and documentation of student progress.

Classroom organization/management.

Communicating with parents of students.

Applying developmentally appropriate and current teaching methodologies.

Implementation and integration of instructional technology.

Working collaboratively with colleagues.Qualifications : Bachelor of Education.

Eligible for or in possession of an Alberta Permanent or Interim Teaching Certificate.

Fluent English is required for this position.

Valid first-aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Experience with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme is desirable.Prior experience teaching secondary level English Language Arts is desirable. The successful applicant will need to provide a recent Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening prior to commencing work.

Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
