Job Summary
Serving as a member of the SHSM team, this SHSM School Lead position entails coordinating with schools for improved student completion of SHSM graduate requirements by tracking SHSM program components (coop, required courses, certifications, and experiential learning), as well as facilitating, planning, and organizing required certifications and experiences. The position will meet with school-based teams on a monthly basis to set goals and track progress. The position will meet at the board level bimonthly to report progress and coordinate across multiple schools where appropriate.WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT: Coordinating Experiential Learning: meet with school sector leads monthly to coordinate sector specific experiential learning. This can include multi-sector excursions and coordinating with other schools to maximize student experiences. This would involve pricing out, planning, and booking experiences, organizing transportation, and generating required paperwork.
Coordinating Certifications: liaise with school sector leads in order to organize required certifications. This may involve sourcing and booking certification opportunities within schools, virtually, or off site during experiential learning.
Tracking SHSM required components: track and input student SHSM progress into EdSemblii. This would include inputting certifications achieved, ensuring required courses are taken, and working with school-based Student Services departments to resolve discrepancies. Lead will work in concert with school staff to meet SHSM ministry reporting timelines throughout the year, including generating projections and final reports.
Monthly meetings with school based SHSM Sector Leads: meet with School Sector Leads monthly to ascertain sector needs, provide feedback on student progress, and to set experiential and certification needs and goals for the coming month
Bimonthly board level meetings: meet with the board based SHSM team to provide updates on progress, coordinate across schools, and report on program growth
Additional requirements: Travel to board sites or potential experiential learning sites for organizational purposes
Ability to work with office-based software, such as Google Sheets.
Ability to learn to navigate EdSemblii as part of tracking process.WHAT YOU BRING: We are looking for retired secondary teachers, with a minimum of 5 years of permanent teaching experience.

Organization, communication, ability to work within a team setting
Understanding of work-based software, such as ExcelThis is a part-time temporary position for a one-year term.
HOURS: Maximum of 35 days during the school year
