Located in the picturesque hamlet of Cambridge Bay, Kullik Ilihakvik Elementary School serves the community of Cambridge Bay. The school has a population of approximately 226 students in a K-6 setting with a staff of 28. The school and community are steeped in a rich history of Inuit culture.

Required qualifications: Bachelor of Education degree

Eligible for Nunavut Teaching Certificate

A minimum of two years teaching experienceDesired qualifications: Experiences in reading processes, acquisition, assessment and instruction using balanced literacy strategies

Experience in collaborative support to students in the effective implementation of formative assessment and differentiated instruction

Experience with formative and summative assessment implementation, reporting and analysis

Experience planning, directing, facilitating and/or reviewing workshops and professional development modules for adult learners

Evidence in modeling and coaching instructional strategies for teachers

Evidence/experience building positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents, stakeholders

Teaching experience in an ESL environment

Cross-cultural and/or northern teaching experience

Experience with Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI)Please note: Subsidized housing is available but sharing may be required.

The salary for certified teachers ranges from $83,643 prorated/annum. to $131,151 prorated/annum.
